Lil Uzi Vert
Biography

Lil Uzi Vert is an artistic pseudonym of Symere Woods, Philadelphia rapper born in 1994. He owes his career to Don Cannon, who lobbied his contract with Atlantic Records. Early stages of promotion for this young black talent involved appearance on “WDYW” by Carnage. Then he did a mixtape called “Luv is Rage”, with many guest appearances of well-known celebrities such as Wiz Khalifa. He continued with “Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World” mixtape, well-received by all critics who reviewed it. “Money Longer” was the most popular song from this mixtape, and one of only two which were released as separate singles. Music video for this song is available on YouTube, and as of 2017 it gathered 80 million views. Not daring to produce a full album just yet, Lil Uzi Vert continued to produce mixtapes, releasing “The Perfect Luv Tape” in same year as previous tape, and laying out the basics for upcoming sequel to debut tape, “Luv is Rage 2”. Both of these share same aesthetics and message as previous works, with artist content with what he does at the moment. A number of fellow rappers help him with these works, such as Lyle LeDuff, Metro Boomin and Zaytoven. Mr. Woods often returns the favor, for example he appeared on “Bad and Boujee” song by Migos. This was first occasion when Uzi Vert found himself on top of Hot 100 chart.
