Biography

Brian Todd Collins or Kid Ink is a hip hop artist from sunny Los Angeles. His stage name is based on fact that almost all his body is covered in tattoos. He was born on April 1, 1986. Since college years, this kid was heavily influenced by work of Timbaland and Swizz Betz, adopting their approach to beat and track making. After being record producer for a while, he started his career with aim of becoming professional rapper. His first stage name was Rockstar, and under this pseudonym he released just one mixtape, “World Tour”. DJ Ill Will noticed him and signed to his own label. That’s when Brian became Kid Ink. “Crash Landing” mixtape came out in 2011 and third mixtape “Daydreamer” followed it almost immediately. “Up & Away” album was released one year later and included thirteen tracks. It was popular on iTunes, breaking into fifth spot among rap albums. Work on next album “My Own Lane” began without delay and was finished during holiday season, hitting shelves on 7th of January 2014. More than eleven guest artists were present in this album, which debuted at 3rd spot of Billboard’s 200. MTV Europe Music Awards nominated him in Best Push Act category that year. In 2015, he released one more album. “Summer in the Winter”.
