Keith Urban
Biography

Keith Lionel Urban is a vocalist and guitar player, born in New Zealand on 26 of October 1967. He works in different subgenres of country. His first album, self-titled one as it often happens, came out in 1991 in Australia. Realizing that United States is the destination for ambitious country singers, he relocated there shortly afterwards. Band known as “The Ranch” picked him up as session guitarist. By coincidence, he helped this band to create yet another self-titled album before its dissolution. Like two eponymous albums weren’t enough, he did yet another one, solo once again, this time while under contract with Capitol Records. This was his breakthrough, with single “Somebody Like You” being hailed by billboard as nothing less than biggest hit of 00’s in country music. It spent six weeks on top of Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. Even more financially successful was his third album, “Be Here”. It was four times platinum. As of 2017 he released nine albums in total, with one receiving exclusive British release. 18 of his singles held first position on Hot country songs charts, 3 of them won Grammy Awards. Truly, Keith is one of most remarkable modern artists in his genre.
