Hozier
Biography

Hozier (full name Andrew Hozier-Byrne) is a professional Irish singer. He was born on March 17, 1990. Music tradition runs strong in Hozier family, as his father was also musician of local renown who dabbled in blues. His family was heavily religious, with Protestant Quaker background. This was reflected in choice of name for his first released extended play – “Take Me to Church”. It was very successful and went to the top of iTunes chart, as well as got Grammy nomination for song of the year. In same 2013 he released another EP with Biblical reference in title – “From Eden”, and went on tour across USA afterwards. Songs from both these extended played were included in Andrew’s first album, self-titled “Hozier”, which was released in late 2014. This period was his most active to this day, as next major release came only in 2016, when he worked on soundtrack for Warner Brothers’ “Legend of Tarzan” movie and released video “Better Love” alongside its theatrical release. Hozier is a frequent guest of TV shows and fashion events. He performed at 2014 annual Victoria Secret show, 2015 Billboard Awards and attended both Saturday Night Live and Late Night. He is no stranger to promoting feminist agenda after filming video for “Cherry Wine”, centered on family violence themes.
