Emeli Sande (Adele Emily Sande) is a popular singer from Scotland. She was born on March 10, 1987, in Sunderland. Soon the family moved to Scotland. At the age of 11, the girl wrote her first song. Emeli became famous after the Chipmunk’s track “Diamond Rings”, where she was featured together with “Naughty Boy”. The single hit top 10 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2010 she appeared on Wiley’s “Never Be Your Woman”, which also became a popular hit. In 2012 Emily Sande got British Award. In 2011 she debuted with the single “Heaven”. Her songs “Read All About It” and “Beneath Your Beautiful” became No.1 hits in the UK and Ireland. The album “Our Versions of Events” remained No.1 on UK charts during 10 weeks and got almost 1 million sales. “Daddy” became one of the most popular singles from the album. In 2012 she opened and closed the ceremony of the London Olympics. Next year she got 2 British Awards. In 2013 she sang at the White House in Washington. Emeli wrote songs for Leona Lewis. According to her, she was mostly influenced by Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse.
