Kelly Clarkson
Biography

Kelly Brianne Clarkson is a pop singer, who gained national renown after participating in the premier season of American Idol. She won it, overcoming Justin Guarini with 58% of the votes. She was off to a dream start. Her first single "A Moment Like This", occupied the first spot of Hot 100 at Billboard and eventually became top selling single of the entire year in the United States. It was later included in debut album “Thankful”. Since then she consistently tried to move away from generic pop image and move towards more gothic and darker feel, which led to misunderstandings with her producers. “My December” signified peak of this trend, as one unaware of Kelly’s distinctive style could think that it is a music in gothic rock genre, like Tarja or even older “Nightwish”. After churning out four more albums – “All I Ever Wanted”, “Stronger”, “Wrapped in Red” and “Piece by Piece”, she announced ambition to write children’s books. HarperCollins publishing house gladly picked her up on this, and first book called “River Rose and the Magical Lullaby” was made available in late 2016. She is also a very active philanthropist, involved in lot of charities. There is, however, a criticism of her public image with some saying that it is too asexual and modest for modern pop singer.
