Katy Perry
Biography

Katy Perry is a famous celebrity, born as Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson on October 25, 1984. She was raised in heavily religious Christian family in soap opera capital of the world – Santa Barbara. In order to get into music business, Katy studied Italian opera in her home city. There she was noticed by rock producers who brought her to Nashville. There she recorded her first album in gospel genre, self-titled. Although critics liked it, commercially it was a flop which led to label bankruptcy. It wasn’t until 2008 that she abandoned gospel and released popular album in pop rock genre – “One of the Boys”. Despite being totally trashed by critics, it sold more than seven million copies. As it often happens in pop genre, artificial controversies were created to help promote it. Almost immediately after this release she started working on “Teenage Dream”, which was made in disco genre to surprise of many. This was immense success, as it contained five singles that topped Billboard charts at one time or another, and this hasn’t happened since Michael Jackson’s legendary album “Bad”. This home run propelled Katy to the very top of popularity, as even her Twitter account now had more followers than Justin Bieber. In everyday life, her image of a tolerant left-wing liberal helps increase her recognition ratings, as it earns both praise from leftists and criticism from conservative leaning fans.
