Biography

Enrique Iglesias is a popular Spanish singer and actor. He is often referred as the King of Latin Pop. He was born on May 8, 1975, in Madrid in the family of an extremely popular singer Julio Iglesias and Filipina. In 1979 Enrique’s parents got divorced. In the mid-90s, Enrique started his career under the name Enrique Martinez, as he didn’t want to use his father’s last name. Soon he switched to Enrique Iglesias. In 1995 the singer signed a record contract. Soon he debuted with a self-titled album, which hit charts and became gold in Portugal during the first week. Enrique sold almost 6 million copies of it in the whole world. In 1996 he was awarded best Latin performer on Grammy Awards, “Artist of the Year” etc. The success was followed by “Vivir”, which got 5 million sales and resulted in the first worldwide tour of Enrique Iglesias. The song “Bailamos” became No. on the USA charts. Later he made a duet with Whitney Houston on the song “Could I Have This Kiss Forever”. The single hit top charts and remains one of the loveliest radio tracks to date.
