Biography

Drake is a talented rapper and songwriter from the USA. He also works as a producer under the name Champagne Papi. He was born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto. In the early 2000s, he made an appearance in a teen drama TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation. In 2007 he gave up the project to pursue a career of a rapper. Soon Drake released his first mixtape “Room for Improvement”. It was followed by “Comeback Season” and “So Far Gone”, after which the singer was signed to Young Money Entertainment in 2009. In 2010 the rapper debuted with the album “Thank Me Later”, which hit No.1 on the Billboard 200. Later RIAA certified it as platinum. The success was followed by “Take Care” (2011) and “Nothing Was The Same” (2013), which were certified quadruple and triple platinum in the United States. According to Drake, he was mostly influenced by Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, and Kanye West. He also mentioned Usher and Aaliyah. As of 2017 the singer has got 3 Grammy Awards and was 27 times nominated. Drake also was awarded 2 MTV Music Video Awards.
