Biography

American Authors is a famous American alternative rock group, formed in New York. Currently, they consist of Zac Barnett, Dave Rublin, James Adam Shelley, and Matt Sanchez. They first met in 2006 in Boston, while studying at Berklee College of Music. They called themselves “Blue Pages” and recorded Night Hawke, Surrounded by Wolves, etc. In 2012 they signed to Island Records and renamed themselves as American Authors. Soon they released an album “Oh, What a Life”, which included popular singles “Believer” and “Best Day of My Life”. In 2013 they signed to Mercury Records. Soon they recorded a single “Hit It”, which appeared on the FIFA 14 video game. The group often appeared in various concerts and events, including Reading Festival, Lollapalooza, Leeds Festival, Freakfest, Firefly Music Festival, etc. Moreover, they have toured in New Zealand, North America, Australia, Europe, and South Africa. The song “Best Day of My Life” was featured in TV Show “The Vampire Diaries”. The track occupied No. 1 on Billboard charts in 2014.
